Refund Policy

We want you to publish a book you're proud of. If InkSmith isn't right for you, here's exactly how refunds work.
The short version
New subscriptions come with a 14-day money-back guarantee. If you're not happy within 14 days of your first subscription payment, contact us for a full refund — no hoops.
14-day money-back guarantee (subscriptions)
If you purchase a subscription for the first time and request a refund within 14 days of that charge, we'll refund it in full and cancel the subscription. The guarantee applies to your initial subscription purchase; it isn't intended for repeated subscribe-refund cycles, which we may decline as abuse.
Subscription renewals
Subscriptions renew automatically. You can cancel anytime from the billing portal — cancellation stops the next renewal and your access continues until the end of the period you've already paid for. Renewal charges are generally non-refundable once the new period begins, so cancel before the renewal date if you don't want to continue. If a renewal caught you by surprise, contact us — we'll do our best to be fair.
One-time packs & add-on credits
One-time purchases — Token Boosts, Deep Research packs, and audiobook render-credit packs — are refundable within 14 days only if the credits are unused. Once you've spent credits from a pack (for example, generated content or run a Deep Research report), that pack is no longer refundable, because the underlying AI costs have already been incurred. Likewise, once a purchase has unlocked export and you've downloaded your book, that purchase is treated as used and is no longer refundable. Unused add-on credits otherwise remain usable while you hold an active subscription and pause if it lapses (resuming when you resubscribe); the once-per-account starter packs (Token Boost +1M, Deep Research ×1) expire one month after you create your account.
What isn't refundable
- Free allowances and promotional credits (they have no cash value).
- Credits that have already been consumed.
- Renewals after the new period has started (subject to the fairness note above).
How to request a refund
Email support@inksmith.ai from your account email, or use the contact option in the billing portal, and tell us which charge you'd like refunded. We aim to respond within a few business days.
How refunds are processed
Purchases are handled by Polar as merchant of record, so approved refunds are issued by Polar back to your original payment method. The time it takes to appear depends on your bank or card provider, typically 5–10 business days. Any sales tax or VAT collected is refunded with the eligible amount.
Chargebacks
If something's wrong, please reach out first — we can almost always sort it out faster than a bank dispute. Filing a chargeback without contacting us may result in your account being suspended pending resolution.
Your statutory rights
Nothing in this policy limits any non-waivable refund or cancellation rights you have under the consumer law of [GOVERNING-LAW JURISDICTION] or your country of residence. This policy works alongside our Terms of Service.
